Reference Ebook Shelf: About

Browse ebooks by call number as you would the reference shelves in a library.

About the Reference ebook shelf

Browse the Reference ebook shelf by call number as you would the print reference section of encyclopedias and dictionaries in a library. To open the ebook click the title.

Like the print collections, the ebook shelf is organized by the Library of Congress Classification system, which determines the first part of the call numbers of books and their order on the shelves.

To expand your research:

  • Search the GIL Catalog to discover additional books and ebooks.
  • Browse the print reference shelves and the general collection shelves (stacks) within the Libraries at the same call number. Ebooks are only a small fraction of the more than 4,600,000 items owned by the UGA Libraries. We have only been buying ebooks for a few years.
  • Check GALILEO@UGA for reference databases and websites by subject.
  • Consult the reference librarian(s) for your subject area. You will see their information on the right side of the screen in this ebook shelf.
