If the UGA Libraries hold a print copy of an article or book chapter that you want, you can ask us to scan it for you and email it to you as a pdf.

Don't want to spend time looking for a book in the stacks? No problem! You can request it through the GIL-Find Catalog and pick it up from the circulation desk. Faculty can request delivery to their departmental office.

Use GIL Express to borrow books from other University System of Georgia Libraries!
GIL Express is a service you access within the Library catalog, GIL-Find.
You can borrow books and journal articles from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan, at no charge. You usually receive articles in electronic format.
Go to the Interlibrary Loan page and log into the ILLiad system, using your UGA MyID and password to set up your account and make requests.
Note: You do not have to tell Interlibrary Loan which libraries hold the item you want. The staff will check that for you.
You can pick up and return Interlibrary Loan materials at their office in the center hallway of the Main Library. After 5pm on weekdays, and on weekends, you can use the circulation desk.

1. Click on My Account at the top of the Libraries homepage, or click on Sign In at the top right of the screen in the GIL catalog.
2. Log in with your UGA MyID and password.
