FINDING STATISTICS - LIBRARY DATABASES

ProQuest Statistical Insight
Built to find and retrieve statistical content, the Statistical Insight database spans millions of full-text reports and more than 1 million published tables on thousands of different topics. It provides fast and easy access to statistical information produced by U.S. federal agencies, states, private organizations, and major intergovernmental organizations.


Statista
Statista is a statistics portal that integrates thousands of diverse topics of data and facts from a wide range of sources onto a single platform. Sources of information include market research, trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases. Examples of useful reports include country profiles such as “Disability in the U.S.,” “Disability in France,” “Disability in India,” and “Disability in the United Kingdom.”


ProQuest Statistical Abstract of the United States
The Statistical Abstract of the United States is a snapshot of America and its people, providing a comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, demographic, and economic conditions of the United States. It compiles statistical tables from a wide array of federal, state, and local agencies, nonprofit organizations, industry associations, and research organizations. It is updated annually, and some tables include historical statistics back as far as 1790. Many of the statistical reports summarized in the Statistical Abstract are available full-text in the ProQuest Statistical Insight database.

Cornell University provides this valuable online resource for U.S. disability statistics. Offers a variety of statistics, datasets, and annual Disability Status Reports that provide national and state-level reports presenting prevalence and relative economic status of people with disabilities.


Annual Disability Statistics Compendium 
Gathers the most recent national statistics on people with disabilities from various federal agencies to make finding and using disability statistics easier. The Compendium provides current statistics and time trends related to the prevalence of disabilities along with key indicators on employment, health, community living, and other outcomes of importance in monitoring the well-being of individuals with disabilities. Includes annual reports on disability statistics in the United States, as well as county-level statistics for each state. Provided by the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire.

Data and Statistics on Disability and Health
This data collection from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides access to an overview of disability and health in each state, state-level health and demographic data about adults with disabilities, statistics on each state’s total disability-associated healthcare expenditures, and more.


US Census Bureau Disability Library
The Census Bureau collects disability data about the following six disability types: hearing difficulty, vision difficulty, cognitive difficulty, ambulatory difficulty, self-care difficulty, and independent living difficulty.  


Crime Against Persons with Disabilities, 2009–2019 – Statistical Tables
Provided by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, this report compares the victimization of persons with and without disabilities living in households, including distributions by sex, race and Hispanic origin, age, and disability type. Disabilities are classified according to six types: hearing, vision, cognitive, ambulatory, self-care, and independent living.
