Disability Studies Research Guide: Find Books

Find the best online and print resources for research in Disability Studies.

SEARCH TOOLS TO FIND BOOKS

  • Search the UGA GIL-Find library catalog to locate books, e-books, and other materials available through the UGA Libraries.
  • GIL-Find also lets you search the other libraries in the University System of Georgia and borrow books from them through the GIL Express service – just change the search scope from "University of Georgia" to "University System of Georgia." For helpful tips, see: How to Find and Request Items at Other USG Libraries
  • You can also search the HathiTrust Digital Library to access content digitized from research library collections. The UGA Libraries are a member of HathiTrust, a partnership of academic and research libraries preserving 17+ million digitized items. The “Full View” items no longer protected by copyright may be viewed by anyone. As partners, UGA faculty, staff, and students may log in and download “Full View” items. “Limited (search only)” items are still under copyright protection and cannot be viewed online. If the items are not available at the UGA Libraries, you can request them through GIL Express or Interlibrary Loan. Eligible UGA users with certified print disabilities can receive special access to in-copyright materials through HathiTrust Digital Library. Eric Griffith, the Disabilities Services Coordinator for the Libraries, is the Libraries Proxy for HathiTrust. If you have a print disability and would like to inquire about access to digital copies of books through HathiTrust, contact Eric at ecg@uga.edu
