Disability Studies Research Guide: Find Dissertations

Find the best online and print resources for research in Disability Studies.

DISSERTATIONS BY UGA STUDENTS

Dissertations and theses written by UGA graduate students are available in either electronic or print format, depending on when the work was completed.

1999-present

From 1999 to the present, most UGA dissertations and theses can be accessed online in our Electronic Theses & Dissertations database. Note: Some authors restrict access to their electronic thesis or dissertation for 2 years after graduation. During this period, some theses and dissertations may be either completely restricted or limited to on-campus use.

UGA dissertations and theses completed from Fall 2019 to the present are also available in the Proquest Dissertations and Theses Full Text database.

Pre-1999

Dissertations and theses completed prior to 1999 are owned by the UGA Libraries in print format only, and are held in our off-site storage facility or in Special Collections. Search our GIL-FIND catalog to find records for dissertations or theses. Make sure to add the keywords “University of Georgia” and “dissertation” or “thesis” to your search in the GIL-Find catalog. You can also limit to Dissertations using the Format filter on the left side of the results list. When you find a print dissertation or thesis that you would like to check out, you can request the item to be brought to campus from our off-site storage.

DISSERTATIONS BY STUDENTS AT OTHER UNIVERSITIES

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Full Text is the world's most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses, providing full text access to millions of dissertations and theses granted by academic institutions worldwide. All subject areas are covered. Each year hundreds of thousands of works are added. Full-text coverage spans from 1743 to the present, including UGA beginning with Fall 2019.

Dissertations or theses from other universities that are not available in ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Full Text can be requested through the UGA Libraries’ Interlibrary Loan department.
