Documenting the Impact of Your Work:
This selective (not comprehensive!) guide links you to sources that will help you document:
- article/book impact - how often your individual works have been cited in traditional and non-traditional sources
- journal impact - the importance of the journals you've published in, based on how often their articles are cited and where they are cited
- researcher impact - the total picture of your research output, documented in a personalized report
This guide will also introduce you to 'altmetrics', alternative measures of scholarly impact.
For more discussion of scholarly metrics, see Demystifying Scholarly Metrics: a Practical Guide.
