Singer SE9180 Sewing & Embroidery Machine

Use Inkscape to Create/Convert embroidery files

  • Open the file to be converted/or created in Inkscape
  • Ensure that the Ink/Stitch extension is added. If not, navigate to Extensions > Ink/Stitch > Lettering to be able to save as embroidery files in Inkscape
  • Change the size of the graphic to the desired dimensions 
  • Save As (to the flash drive) as a .DST file format or .VP3 file format 
  • Change the size of the canvas/drawing area in Inkscape to be slightly larger the dimensions of your graphic. Do this in Document Properties
  • Make the canvas size slightly larger than the graphic to be embroidered
  • Save As (to the flash drive) as a .DST file format or .VP3 file format 
  • Insert the flash drive into the embroidery machine and load the image
