WMST 1110: Multicultural Perspectives on Women in the U.S.: Evaluating Sources

Evaluating Sources

What makes a source good? You want to find sources that:

  • relate to your chosen research topic
  • use evidence appropriately and give credit for others' ideas (either formally through citations or informally)
  • are written and/or published by credible authors or organizations
  • are current enough so that you don't leave out new information (most important in the sciences and social sciences)
  • are comprehensive enough for your needs
