Linguistics: Getting Started

Linguistics and the UGA Libraries

Linguistics studies at UGA are taught by the Linguistics Department based in Gilbert Hall.

You will find most physical research materials (books, journals) in the Main Library, primarily on the third floor in the call number ranges P1-P1091. Additional materials are located under the call numbers for specific languages. The subject breakdown can be seen in this PDF document.

As your library liaison, I can assist you with:

  • Identifying and accessing relevant library resources for your research
  • Using our subscription databases
  • Locating or purchasing materials to support your research and teaching
  • Providing library instruction sessions for classes

If you would like to get in touch with me, please see the Your Librarian box at the right of this page.
