UGA Well-being Resources promote student success by cultivating a culture that supports a more active, healthy, and engaged student community. Anyone needing assistance is encouraged to contact Student Care & Outreach (SCO) in the Division of Student Affairs at 706-542-8479 or visit sco.uga.edu. Student Care & Outreach helps students navigate difficult circumstances by connecting them with the most appropriate resources or services. They also administer the Embark@UGA program which supports students experiencing, or who have experienced, homelessness, foster care, or housing insecurity.
UGA provides both clinical and non-clinical options to support student well-being and mental health, any time, any place. Whether on campus, or studying from home or abroad, UGA Well-being Resources are here to help.

Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) is your go-to campus resource for emotional, social, and behavioral health support. They provide brief, goal-focused services, and there is no out-of-pocket cost for most services*. Their team is here to help you find the best fit for service, whether that be CAPS individual, couples, or group counseling, psychiatry, or coordinating with their amazing case management team for assistance in finding off-campus resources.
CAPS offers in-person and virtual appointments. To start services, students can walk into CAPS for a complimentary screening during business hours. If a phone screening is required, please call CAPS at 706-542-2273 to schedule. During the screening session, you will have the opportunity to discuss resource and treatment options with a CAPS clinician.
They have expanded their group offerings for the semester and will have both in-person and telebehavioral opportunities for group participation. For more information on group offerings, you can review the Group Schedule.
Psychiatry services do not require counseling services within CAPS.
As always, CAPS remains committed to supporting students. 24/7 support is available by calling CAPS directly at 706-542-2273.
You can also explore free CAPS online resources, including the CAPS: Self Care page and the #BeWellUGA page for a robust list of resources and programs.
