Atlanta Research Data Center (ARDC)
Located at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the ARDC provides around the Southeast with the opportunity to perform statistical analysis on non-public Census microdata. Includes economic, demographic, and health data
National Historic GIS
Provides access to both historic and current data and GIS files. Users can select the date, geography, and variable(s) for desired data. Download options include SPSS, SAS, Stata, CSV file, GIS CSV file, and shapefiles. Must register before accessing data, but there is no charge.
Contains demographic, economic, education, health, and quality of life (crime, food access, commuting times) data layers. Can also add your own data (via a .csv) to your map.

U.S. Census Geography
Maps & Data: Find geographic data and products; including TIGER/Line Shapefiles, KMLs, TIGERweb, cartographic boundary files, geographic relationship files, and reference and thematic maps.
From the Center for Economic Studies at the U.S. Census Bureau, OnTheMap creates statistics on employment, earnings, and job flows at detailed levels of geography and industry and for different demographic groups.
HUD User Data Sets
Data sets available for download from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) including: housing surveys, assisted housing, fair market rents, government sponsored enterprise data, qualified census tracts and difficult development areas, and many others.
Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC)
Focuses on human interactions in the environment to develop and operate applications that support the integration of socioeconomic and Earth science data. Can create a WMS layer; instructions under the Maps menu.
