When linking to library-subscribed resources, you may need to create a customized direct link that recognizes you as a UGA user.
Direct links help to resolve access issues both on and off campus. They are useful for browser bookmarks and links to articles and other resources in eLC and class websites.
Many databases already provide UGA-authenticated links to articles. When viewing an article, look for the Permalink, Stable URL, Document URL, or simply the chain icon.
Use policy
Databases, electronic journals and other e-resources are for the use of current UGA faculty, staff and students only. The use of these resources is governed by copyright law and by the license agreements between UGA Libraries and the publisher.
The systematic downloading of data is expressly prohibited.
Create a custom link to a journal or article
If a ready-made link to a resource is not available, find the web page address (URL) in your browser's address bar. For example:
Copy this prefix:
https://go.openathens.net/redirector/uga.edu?url=
Add it to the beginning of your URL to produce your link. Using the above example:
The above will not work if the UGA Libraries do not subscribe. Not all URLs can be used in this way because they may contain code specific to your particular browsing/searching session.
