Qualitative Research Teaching Circle: In class Activity

Group Instructions

Gather into groups of 3-4 people.  Your group will be assigned a research study to read and analyze.  Go through the study, keeping in mind the questions below.  Have someone record your answers.  (Time 30 minutes)

Group Questions

  1. What are the hallmarks of qualitative research in this study?  

  2. How did the libraries use qualitative methods to get user data?  

  3. What did they learn?  (What were the results?)

  4. How can this study, the methods used, and the data gathered, be applied to the UGA Libraries?
  5. What benefits come from knowing this type of information about our users?  
  6. Do you foresee any drawbacks?
