Google Scholar at the UGA Libraries

Google Scholar searches for scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources.

Connect to Full-Text

If no PDF is available in the results, use the View It @ UGA link to connect to full-text articles provided by UGA Libraries.

An arrow points at a VIEW IT @ UGA link in the margin of Google Scholar results. Another arrow points at the >> icon under a book citation in Google Scholar.

For books, click on the arrow icon under each result. Then select Get It @ UGA to read or request.

Option 1: Google Scholar Access

Configure your settings in Google Scholar:
  1. Close your browser window and start a new session.
  2. Go to https://scholar.google.com/.
  3. Click the three horizontal lines ("hamburger") menu symbol at the top left.
  4. Choose Settings (gear icon)
  5. Choose the tab for Library Links.
  6. Search for University of Georgia in the box. When it comes up in the results list, check the box next to it, and then click the 'Save' button.
This process will tell Google Scholar that it should display the ViewIt@UGA button and link to full-text of the articles to which we subscribe.
You should now be able to search Google Scholar and will get prompted to log into the UGA SSO if you need to access an article to which UGA Libraries subscribes.

Option 2: Google Scholar Access

Add our institutional ID to your search:
  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Close your browser window and start a new session.
  3. Then, paste this link into your browser.
This will hopefully display a results list for a search on the term 'bananas'. You can then change the search terms in the search box to your own search terms.
