Ancestry Library Edition: The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. federal census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930; the Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps; American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes), Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes), The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630, Social Security Death Index, WWI Draft Registration Cards, Federal Slave Narratives, and a strong Civil War collection. All materials may be searched at once (using a basic or advanced search screen), or various databases and indexes may be searched individually.
We keep a brief list of researchers for hire who have contacted us to offer their services.
The Georgia Genealogical Society also keeps a list of independent researchers for hire, all of whom are members of the Society.

These subject headings have been selected from the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH), 31st ed. This set is available behind the Main Library Reference Desk. You may use it for subject searching in the online catalog. Consult with a reference librarian if you have questions concerning the UGA Libraries, the LCSH or the UGA Libraries' Catalog in GIL.
Note: Personal names, place names, the names of organizations, etc., are valid subject headings in the Library of Congress classification system. You do not need to consult LCSH to verify these headings.
