Occupational Outlook Handbook  From the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this handbook provides information about numerous career choices with detailed information on what workers do on the job and expected job prospects. For example, there are sections on Accountants and Auditors, Budget Analysts, Financial Managers, Loan Officers and Counselors, and Insurance Underwriters.

Salary.com Includes a salary calculator to find average salaries by job title, category, and zip code.

Professional Associations

Association for Information Systems (AIS) An international, not-for-profit, professional association for scholars of information systems that was established in 1994. The association publishes journals, organizes conferences, and provides a forum for information systems professors and managers.

Society for Information Management A professional organization of over 5,000 senior information technology executives, chief information officers, prominent academicians, selected consultants, and others.

American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) A non-profit membership organization for information professionals that sponsors an annual conference as well as several serial publications, including the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology.

Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences An international society for practitioners in the fields of operations research, management science, and analytics. It was established in 1995 with the merger of the Operations Research Society of America and The Institute of Management Sciences.
