Libraries' Undergraduate Research Awards

Since 2007, the UGA Libraries has sponsored the Undergraduate Research Awards, which provide cash prizes for excellence in research and academic inquiry. All UGA undergraduates conducting research are eligible!

Prizes range from $200-$300.

Whether you are creating a historical thesis, policy paper, composition for piano or a scientific study, you are eligible to apply for this award with the following steps:

  1. Meet with a librarian for a research consultation. The Librarian will email you after your research conference with a summary that you will attach to the application form.
  2. Write a 3-5 page essay describing and reflecting upon your research process and project
  3. Include with your application the bibliography of sources used in your paper
  4. Fill out application form and attach required documents (list in the menu on the left)

Research projects may still be in progress by award deadlines. Completed projects must have been finished within the past year (Spring 2021-present). Please see the Essay GuidelinesApplication Form and Application Checklist for details.

DUE DATE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 2024 TBA.

Prizes will be awarded at the CURO Symposium DATE TBA. Students do not need to be part of the CURO program to be eligible for the Libraries' Undergraduate Research Award.
