The Libraries Assessment Committee is now accepting proposals from Libraries faculty and staff members to fund assessment projects. Micro Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to successful applicants.
What will these Micro Grants pay for? Micro Grants can be used to pay for incentives, software, courses, statistical consultation, student work hours, and other expenses related to assessment projects. Assessment projects can include focus groups, individual interviews, observation studies, surveys, web analytics, and other data-gathering methods. The committee will consider funding any type of project expense if accompanied by a compelling proposal application. Micro Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to successful applicants.
Deadline: October 1, 2018.
Awardees will be notified and funds made available on November 5, 2018.
Review Process & Expectations: The Assessment Committee will review all applications and make recommendations to the Libraries’ Administration for final decisions. At the conclusion of their projects, all awardees will be required to submit a final report to the Assessment Committee; to compose a brief executive summary that will be distributed on Grapevine; and to deliver a presentation or poster session summarizing the project at one internal libraries meeting, e.g., DHG, departmental meeting, Assessment Circle, In-House Conference, Libraries Forum.
IRB: Most assessment projects are unlikely to require IRB approval. However, consult the UGA IRB guidelines if you are uncertain whether your project meets the condition of being both research and involving human subjects.
Submissions: Send completed applications and questions to Chandler Christoffel at christof@uga.edu.
