A guide to services and changes in Fall 2020, in light of COVID-19.

Measures to Lessen the Spread of COVID-19

The UGA Libraries will open to the public on August 10 with measures in place to lessen the spread of COVID-19:

  • All staff and visitors must wear a face covering per USG policy and follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be provided.
  • Plexiglass has been added to service desks and between computer desks.
  • Furniture and equipment have been arranged to promote social distancing in study areas.
  • Group study rooms at the Main Library and Miller Learning Center will have a maximum occupancy of two people. Students sharing a study room must wear masks.
  • Books and other materials will be quarantined for three to four days between check outs.
  • WEPA kiosks can be operated touch-free by using the WEPA app on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android).
  • Once classes begin on August 20, the Main Library, Science Library, and Miller Learning Center will be open until midnight most weekdays with earlier closing times on weekends. After closing, cleaning crews will disinfect high-touch surfaces. See our website for a complete list of hours.
