Locating Literary Magazines in the UGA Libraries
Current issues from the list below are on the second floor of the Main Library in alphabetical order. *Titles with an asterisk don't have issues in current periodicals right now; all are bound and found at that floor and call number.
Older back issues are shelved by call number. Find the call number on the shelf under the current issues. Call numbers starting with ‘A’ are on the 2nd floor; ‘P’ on the 3rd floor.
Locate other magazines by searching for the title in the GIL Find catalog. GIL Find is the same as the “Books & More” option on the library homepage: libs.uga.edu.

Researching Literary Magazines
Multi-Search searches through hundreds of different scholarly journals, magazines, and some newspapers.
- Use the Advanced Search and change the "Select a Field" option as you need:
- Searching for a magazine by "Subject Terms" finds articles about that magazine
- Searching for a magazine by "Journal Title/Source" will find poems, stories, and essays published in that magazine (if it is included in Multi-Search)
- Put any title that is two or more words between quotation marks: "georgia review"
ProQuest Global Newsstream and Access World News have full newspaper articles from around the U.S. without hitting paywalls.
Literary Magazines from Poets & Writers magazine has an extensive list aimed at authors with editorial policies and submission guidelines.
Ulrichsweb has basic publication information about magazines including subscription costs, number of issues per year, and sometimes reviews and circulation figures.
