QUAL 8400: Qualitative Research Traditions (Freeman): BrowZine

What is BrowZine?

BrowZine provides full-text of hundred of journals. You can't search for a topic, but you browse through it. You can create an account to save your articles, etc. This is good football homework--watch a play, scroll. Watch a play, scroll....BrowZine is a library-subscribed app that lets you read recent journals on your mobile device.

Devices supported

All iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches with iOS v7.x+

Android Tablets with OS v4.0+  and Andoid phones

Kindle Fire HD Tablets

Journals available

BrowZine back issues begin in 2005 or later. To read earlier issues, use the Libraries' Journal Locator.

BrowZine only includes journals that are scholarly and either subscribed to by the UGA Libraries or open access. BrowZine does not include all the Libraries' subscriptions. As a new product, BrowZine is adding journals and publishers regularly.

Current list of publishers included

To see if a specific title is included, download the app and search for it. Don't see your favorite UGA-subscribed journal? Contact us and we'll ask Browzine to add it.

Browzine is not a tool for searching for articles by subject. Use a GALILEO database or Multi-Search to identify articles on a specific topic.

Saving, emailing, and exporting

BrowZine allows you to:

Save articles for off-line reading
Email articles to yourself or a colleague
And with the Mobile Version: Export articles to RefWorks, Zotero, and Mendeley (EndNote is not yet available)

BrowZine FAQ

BrowZine now has a web interface.

Like the mobile version, it does not include all the Libraries' online journals but is an easy way to browse those journals that are included. The "My Bookshelf" feature in the mobile version is not available in our subscription to the web version.

How to get BrowZine

BrowZine is available through a web version designed for computers or by downloading their app to your mobile device.

BrowZine is free for UGA affiliates.

Choose “University of Georgia” from the list of libraries so you have access to our journals. Log in with your MyID and password, and you are ready to read. Set up a free BrowZine account to save journals and articles to a personal bookshelf and to sync your readings across devices.
