KINS 7140: Current Issues in Kinesiology (Kirk): Curriculum Materials Library

Full-Service In Aderhold

The Curriculum Materials Library,  207 Aderhold holds juvenile literature, from board books to Young Adult titles, textbooks, and other materials for classroom use in preschool to high school classes. Every effort is made to purchase textbooks in use in area schools to enable pre-service teachers the opportunity to prepare with materials actually in use. Schools aren't buying so many texts these days, so the collection is not quite new in this area.

In addition to textbooks, there is also a  media collection. These films may be checked out for use in the home or classroom. You can also access the Main Libraries' Media Collection.

Activity kits are also available and range from puppets to  fake food. Why would anyone have fake food? It's an excellent resource for nutrition classes! Our puppets are include animals such as a barn owl, squirrel, bunny, fox, lion and elephant nestle next to a ballerina, cowgirl, and whole families. The puppets are a useful resource for counseling with young children, in addition to aiding in story time and so on.

The Juvenile Collection in the Curriculum Materials Library  has materials for beginning readers and babies up to young adult titles. Titles include fiction and non-fiction and are arranged using Library of Congress call numbers. Increasingly, Spanish-language works are available.
