FYOS 1001: (Phelps): Avoid Plagiarism

Plagiarism Will Get You In Hot Water

One big thing to watch out for is plagiarism. It will get you into big trouble. The Oxford English Dictionary (online in GALIEO) provides this definition:

"The action or practice of taking someone else's work, idea, etc., and passing it off as one's own; literary theft." Citation: "plagiarism, n.". OED Online. September 2021. Oxford University Press.

We have a guide devoted to keeping you out of trouble. You can find it here  This was created by my colleague, Elizabeth White.  If you're not sure about something, ask someone! Librarians are all over the place.
