Zotero: Citation Management

Zotero resources

What is it?

Citation managers, like Mendeley, EndNote, RefWorks, and Zotero, help you to gather all your sources and citations into your own mini-database. UGA Libraries does not provide training for Zotero, but you can use this page to find resources and learn more.

Zotero is primarily a program that runs on your own computer. If you choose to create an account and sync your data, you’ll also have access to your web library on zotero.org. However, while the web library allows you to view and edit your data and access synced files, for full functionality you’ll want to install Zotero on each synced computer. - Zotero website

If you’re not able to install software and just need to create bibliographies, there is a an option called ZoteroBib.

How do I get it?

You can download versions for Mac, Windows, Linux 32-bit, and Linux 64-bit computers from https://www.zotero.org/download/.

Videos

Georgia State has an extensive  Zotero guide and videos. You can search Zotero in their YouTube channel to find videos.

Training

UGA Librarians do not have Zotero training, and UGA does not support Zotero. We hope gathering these resources will help you work with Zotero. You are welcome to ask a citation manager for advice, but none have specific training for Zotero.

NOTE: The Library chat box will contact whoever is on duty, and not necessarily a citation manager trainer. Please use the training request form or e-mail the author of the guide.
