Tax Assistance Information

  • IRS Help offers some answers to common questions, while also providing telephone numbers for questions that can't be resolved online. 
  • The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program "offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns."
    • Athens and Georgia residents can take advantage of UGA's VITA program.
    • The VITA Locator allows you to search by zip code to find locations near you. 
  • Georgia Tax Center Help provides how-to videos, answers to frequently asked questions, as well as instructions and how-to documents.
