By installing the Endnote software, I agree:
If you are an IT manager installing Endnote on multiple UGA computers, please email Ian Thomas with the number for record-keeping purposes. We have added X8 for PC and Mac to the download list. If you run Sierra (the latest Mac OS) you must use EndNote x8. No other versions of EndNote are compatible with Mac Sierra OS.
NOTE: Please download the latest Endnote updates after installing!
You will also need to re-install Endnote Web if you are updating.
When you have read the license and clicked 'I agree', you will be taken to a screen where you can download your preferred version of EndNote. Two prior versions are retained for those using earlier versions to complete degree requirements.
Due to software updates, if you want to download citation information for books, you need an additional file. This is not available from EndNote. Please email Ian Thomas at email@example.com to get the file.
There are special compatibility issues that can come up for EndNote on a Mac. Please go to the EndNote for Mac page for additional instructions, and troubleshooting. See below for special preparation before downloading.
1) Quit your word processing programs. Closing the window (the red button) is not enough.
2) We recommend downloading Firefox. Firefox is the only browser that automatically sends database and Google Scholar citations to EndNote. To use Safari, after you download a citation file, you must drag that file and place it over the EndNote icon in your dock. That is the only way to import citations from a database in Safari.
Remember: The first time you send database references to EndNote, you must designate the program to open the reference files in Firefox . Follow the directions in the video at right.
